Corte Grande Delle Venezie Pinot Grigio
I love white wines all year long but a light, crisp Pinot Grigio from the northern region of Italy can definitely beat the heat! These Pinot Grigios are most always done in stainless steel and are light in body and dry. These make easy pairings for warm weather foods and outdoor events. Today I am sipping on Corte Grande Delle Venezie Pinot Grigio 2019 and it is delicious with lots of style! The “Delle Venezie” location on the label tells you that the grapes are from any of the 3 regions of Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia, or the Trentino province. So in 2019, Corte Grande got these grapes from 2-3 of those regions and blended them together to make this excellent wine!
In my glass, day bright with greenish reflections on the rim. Lovely aromas of lemon, citrus, pear, and stone fruit wake my senses. Light to medium bodied across the palate, crisp, with low acid. Vibrant flavors of Meyer Lemon, ripe pear, pineapple, tropical citrus, and a nice minerality. Bright and lively with wonderful summertime flavors and balanced with lower acidity. On my next sip, lemon and citrus were upfront with hints of stone fruit and Starfruit leading to an enticing, mineral fruit finish. The lighter acidity brought out more fruit flavors that were very enjoyable and refreshing! You can enjoy this Pinot Grigio on its own or pair with shrimp, seafood, chicken, pastas with cream sauces, fresh salads, and light to medium cheeses. On the rock n roll side, pair with the sounds of Weezer, Coldplay, Beck, or Smashmouth…..any music that is fun and vibrant! This Pinot Grigio does make me feel like dancing! 94 Points from Wine Splash!
