Helioterra Willamette Valley Pinot Noir Vintners Select

It is exciting to find a tasty red wine that can beat the summertime heat and also pair with all the great foods of summer too! I am enjoying the Helioterra Pinot Noir Vintners Select 2015 and it is from one of the best Pinot Noir growing regions, the Willamette Valley in Oregon. Pinot Noir loves to grow in warm sunny days and rest in the cool evenings that this region offers. Helioterra has four vineyards in the Willamette Valley and this Vintners Select wine uses grapes from all four vineyards. Barrel fermented, it is the “Crown Jewel” of Helioterra’s wine production!

In my glass, ruby red in color with beautiful clarity. Enticing aromas of ripe red cherry, raspberry, purple flower, herbs, and baking spices leap from the glass! Medium in body, smooth, with light tannins across the palate. Lively flavors of fresh picked cherries, forest berries, cocoa, earth, and exotic spices. A cornucopia of abundant flavors that truly describe the climate and terroir of the wine! On the second taste, more juicy cherry came through with hints of plum and cola notes leading to a refined, berry oak finish. This is a wonderful wine to pair with foods like baked ham, grilled salmon or chicken, roasted turkey, Portobello Mushroom Burger, grilled vegetables, Maurice Salad, and medium cheeses. I paired this Pinot Noir with a ham, mushroom, red pepper, and cheese omelette and it was perfect! This wine is a strong 90 Points! (Wine Splash).
