Joseph Mellot Vigne De La Demoiselle Sancerre Rosé 2018

It’s finally Spring and the birds are singing and the flowers are blooming! You can sip Rosés any time of year but Spring just seems to be the right time to start opening these bottles up since they go so well with Spring seasonal foods and the Easter holiday! Sancerre is a region in the Loire Valley of France which is known for producing amazing Pinot Noir Rosés and this is one of them. In my glass, dark pink in color with aromas of strawberry, raspberry, spice, and wet stone. Light in body across the palate with a medium acid structure. Flavors of fresh strawberries, white cherry, orange zest, and mineral. Refreshing and bursting with red fruits! On the second sip, more exciting red berry came through with hints of herbs and citrus leading to a ripe and racy fruit finish. This wine can be the life of the party or to accompany a nice meal. Pair with oven Baked Ham, Hawaiian Chicken, pork roast, fresh salads, or soft to medium cheeses. 91 Points! (Wine Splash).
