Wine Splash!

This is a wonderfully impressive Rhone red wine from the Vacqueyras region in Southeastern France! This region is known for growing Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre grapes and that is exactly what this Rhone blend is with 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, and 20% Mourvedre. In my glass, violet in color with a ruby rim. Bountiful dark fruit, earth, spices, and floral on the nose that definitely awaken your senses! Full bodied richness across the palate. lush and velvety with low tannins. This Rhone is a garden of delights with flavors of ripe black cherry, blackcurrant, forest floor, and bakers spices. On the second sip, rich plummy flavors came through mid palate with hints of tar and cedar leading to a long, generous dark fruit finish.

This is a rich and savory wine with layers of ripe dark fruit and exciting, exotic spices! Pair this wine with a pork roast, baked turkey, lamb (gyros), mushroom mac and cheese, tomato goulash, and medium to strong cheeses. 91 Points!
