Mettler Family Vineyards Pinotage 2016
It’s almost Saturday night so why not celebrate?! Sipping a rich Pinotage from Mettler Family Vineyards in Lodi, California. Very fruit forward with flavors of ripe dark berry, stewed plum, spice, and a long, delicate finish. Pinotage is usually at home in South Africa but it is now growing its way into California and into our hearts! Pinotage is a red grape that is much more herbaceous and earthy when from South Africa so it is great to experience all it’s fruity qualities when grown in California. Very delicious, rich, full bodied and about $25 a bottle. Pairs very well with my cheese and fruit board tonight! Who has an empty glass for me to fill? Cheers!
