Oxley Estate Riesling 2016
Oxley Estate Winery is one of my favorite stops along Lake Erie in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. Relaxing Lake Erie breezes, fun people, and scrumptious wines are always in store along this route! Today I opened the Oxley Estate Riesling from 2016 and it was delicious! The smells of the Fall leaves just brought out the subtle spiciness of this Riesling which made the whole experience great! Daybright in the glass with aroma’s of lemon, fresh apple, honeysuckle, and spices. Ripe flavors of Honeycrisp Apples, pear, citrus, and a hint of pineapple. Medium bodied across the palate with a nice share of acidity. On the second sip, more fresh citrus came through with notes of starfruit, spice, and a nice minerality on the long finish. Perfect Riesling to pair with baked ham, turkey, grilled flounder, fresh salads, pasta with a white sauce, and medium cheeses. 90 points and average of $19 a bottle. WineSplashing!!
