Celani Siglo

The Celani family has made a rich and delicious Proprietary red wine which sounds like a blend but is 100% Merlot from Napa Valley. This 2013 Merlot has been on vacation relaxing in new French oak barrels and this truly shows in the flavor. In the glass, this Merlot is very dense and violet in color. Rich aroma’s of stewed black fruit, blackberry jam, smoke, and oak. Across the palate, this wine is full bodied, crazy velvety, smooth, svelte, lush fruit, and low in tannins. Luxurious flavors of ripe juicy plums, blackberry jam, concentrated black fruit, and bakers spices. This Merlot is so luxurious, I felt like I was floating down a chocolaty river on a magnificent marshmallow with whipped cream sipping…. well…..this wine! On the second sip, more dark fruit came through along with notes of decadent chocolate, tobacco, and hints of anise leading to a blockbuster vanilla, bourbon barrel-esque finish. This wine is so rich, it is chewy on the palate and has the air of bourbon barrel influence. It’s a luxurious, firecracker of a Merlot with an urethral explosion of dark fruit! This is a 2013 vintage and now the 2016 is available. If you have a 2013 vintage, drink by 2020 at the latest. 92 Point rating and average of $30 a bottle. WineSplashing!!
