Sprucewood Shores Cabernet Sauvignon
Being in Virginia now, it’s tough to get to our favorite Canadian wineries on the North Lake Erie Shore. So I have been saving some of those wines until we can get there again. Only 30 minutes from downtown Detroit, this wine region is beautiful, fun, with some excellent quality wines! Sprucewood Shores Winery is one of those “must stop” places with it’s beautiful view of Lake Erie, superb wines, and great hospitality! Last night we enjoyed the Sprucewood Shores Cabernet Sauvignon and it was wonderful. Ruby red in the glass with aromas of dark berries, leather, vanilla, and spice. Medium bodied with flavors of ripe blackberry, black currant, hints of leather and pepper with a graceful vanilla oak finish. Perfect with steak, grilled burgers, pizza, pasta with tomato sauce, and medium to strong cheeses. This was the 2013 vintage and we are looking forward to replenishing our stock with the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon soon! 90 points and around $18 a bottle. Winesplashing!!
