Trinitas Cellars Comes Out of the Cave!

The excitement of visiting Napa Valley is one that cannot be contained in one mind, body, and soul. If you are a fan of wine, you know you are in the “sweet spot” of one of the major wine producing regions in the world! If you are planning a three day getaway, you know you have limited time to visit only so many wineries. That weekend trip is like planning a spice rack. You only have 12 spots in the rack but there are hundreds of different spices you want to put in there. So like your spices, you must choose your winery visits wisely and choose the ones that you feel will fit your palate and send your soul to Cloud 9…and beyond! Trinitas Cellars is one of those “Must Stop” wineries that gives you so much more than what you expected with fantastic wines, soulful views, and a super cool wine cave that puts you in the middle of the perfect wine experience!

Wine Cave

A dream for Tim and Steph Busch became reality in 2002 when they founded Trinitas Cellars in Napa Valley, California. And it is still a family owned and run winery with son Garrett and his wife Betsy operating and managing the daily activities at the winery and vineyard. Trinitas is the Latin word for “Trinity” which is the Christian concept fused into the winery’s mission and winemaking philosophy of Sun, Soil, and Humanity. Each is needed to work together to make the heavenly wines that are produced here at Trinitas Cellars.

Inside Wine Cave

Inside Wine Cave

One thing we liked about visiting Trinitas Cellars was the many choices of tours and wine tastings that are offered. You can choose an informative vineyard tour and try three Trinitas wines while learning about how the grapes are grown and all the love that goes into that wonderful wine you are sipping. The vineyard is beautiful and the Grape Crusher statue there is definitely a sight you will not forget! The vineyard tour is one that is seasonal and goes from Springtime to mid November each year. If that tour is full, then how about the Trinitas Library for an informative and personal wine tasting with some of the exclusive wines from Trinitas? But we were intrigued by the “Estate Wine Cave” that is located 40 feet underground and had an eclectic, mystical feel where we really felt we were living the winemaking process being there! In the Wine Cave, we had a choice between three different tastings of the Elevated Flight, Signature Flight, or the Wine and Chocolate Pairing Flight. Scrumptious! Each tour and tasting has its own ambiance and was designated to your own palate and affordability. All the Trinitas Tasters and Tour Guides were friendly, fun, and very well educated about wine and the Trinitas Cellars lifestyle.

Some of the wines we enjoyed and recommend that you experience as well are the 2012 Psalms Napa Valley White Blend which is a mix of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. This blend is full of bright fruit flavors of citrus, kiwi, vanilla, and spice. The Angel wings on the label is one you will feel drawn to and want to try the wonderful wine inside! We also loved the 2013 Chardonnay Proprietors’ Reserve Carneros which had a creamy mouth feel and flavors of grilled lemon, vanilla, and rich roasted caramel. And how about some fantastic reds that will bring you to wine nirvana? Try the 2012 Carneros Pinot Noir with its flavors of black cherry, apple pie, and baking spices will put your palate in ecstasy! The 2012 Old Vine Petite Sirah from Contra Costa has flavors of dark fruits, blueberry, coffee, and chocolate with a long, silky finish. And with a 15.3% alcohol level, you are bound to feel the heat! Last, but certainly not the least, we loved the 2013 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon which will have you knocking on Heaven’s door! It has aroma’s and flavors of ripe blackberry, espresso, tobacco, and oak on a long and elegant finish. A wine that is an answer to any Cabernet lovers prayers!
