Butter California Chardonnay 2014

Butter Chardonnay

Butter Chardonnay

Chardonnay can be quite the mysterious fellow since it has so many different styles and flavors that you may not be sure what you are going to get! Here is a Chardonnay that has a one word descriptor right on the label so you don’t have to spin the bottle around to read the back. Butter. Just butter? Oh no no! Not JUST butter. So don’t grease the cooking pan with this wine just yet. It has layers upon layers of flavors but one of the most pronounced is “butter”. Produced by Jam Cellars in California who also brings you Toast Sparkling and JaM Cabernet Sauvignon.

In the glass, pale gold in color, clear and bright. Heavenly aroma’s of tropical fruits, citrus, vanilla, and baking spices fill the senses! Medium to full bodied across the palate, rich and creamy. Sinful flavors of ripe pineapple, lemon, juicy pear, and vanilla are quite divine. A few sips and you may think you have found the keys to Heaven, even if you are feeling devilish! On the second sip, more tropical notes came through with hints of honeydew that led to an explosive buttery, vanilla oak finish. This wine is very creamy and smooth but bursting with fresh flavors! Well balanced between fruit, oak, and baking spices. A perfect pairing with grilled chicken, a hearty planked Salmon, pasta with cream based sauces, and medium to strong cheeses. One stick….I mean “bottle” of Butter Chardonnay and you will know what I mean. 92 Points! Around $17 a bottle. WineSplashing!!
