If you enjoy a bright and refreshing white wine with lush tropical fruit flavors, you have just found salvation! Montelle Winery in Augusta, Missouri is the place to go for great wines, fun entertainment, good food, and the best deck and scenic view in the state! Add in some great friends and your stop here will be unforgettable! This tasting was for the 2013 bottle of Dry Vignoles but the 2014 has the same quality and flavors. Check local stores in the St Louis region or online to have a chance to try this wonderful Vignoles.

In the glass, straw yellow in color with a pale yellow rim. An amazing nose of bright tropical fruit, pineapple, citrus, and orange blossom. Medium weight mouth-feel and very velvety yet crisp on the palate. Lush flavors of pineapple, tropical fruit salad, citrus, and honeydew. The wave of fruit flavors was so tremendous, I was ready to take surfing lessons! On the second sip, vibrant flavors of lime, mango, and fresh strawberry came through to a refreshing, crisp finish. Bravo and Encore! The label on the bottle reads “dry” but there is so much lush fruit that you may believe it to be off dry in style. Definitely fruit forward but with crisp acidity on the finish. Pair with glazed chicken, sweet and sour shrimp, summer salads, and soft to medium cheeses. This is a fun, vibrant, and flavorful Vignoles and we would love to grab a few more bottles for the upcoming warmer months. When rating and comparing with other Vignoles, this one rates at 92 Points!
