Pillow Rd Pinot Noir

Pillow Rd Pinot Noir

Created by winemaker Jade Barrett for Ladera Vineyards, this is a classic style Pinot Noir from Russian River Valley in California. The Pillow Road vineyard is located in the Russian River Valley of West Sonoma County, southwest of the city of Sebastopol in an area lovingly known as the Sebastopol Hills. This a superior viticultural region renowned for producing world class Pinot Noir. Renowned for its Goldridge soils, wide ranging temperature swings and illustrious morning fogs, the vines at Pillow Road thrive in ideal climatic conditions that produce extraordinary wines capturing the best expression of this unique vineyard.

In the glass, garnet red in color with a bright red rim. Aromas of ripe cherry, red licorice, spice, and nuances of barnyard funk. Medium weight across the palate with soft, velvety tannins. Flavors of pomegranate, baked cherry, tobacco, and exquisite herbs. Great balance between bright fruit, juicy acidity, and supple tannins. On the second sip, more pronounced red cherry, hints of cranberry, and a long elegant oak finish. Wonderful to sip on its own or to accompany a meal. Pair with seasoned pork roast, baked ham, turkey, Mediterranean salad, or medium cheeses. This is a lush, interesting, and enjoyable Pinot Noir with lots of flavor and elegance! 91 Points! Average of $48 a bottle. WineSplashing!!
