Wine Review: A to Z Wineworks Pinot Noir

A perfect wine to pair with our pork chops with a spicy warm rub. Wine Spectator gave this wine 90 Points! We thought it was a very good wine and we always taste the wine before we start drinking them with food. Beautiful cherry, ginger, apricots and violets on the nose. Very lively on the palate and bursting with ripe red berries, bing cherries, spice, and tea. Silky smooth with a medium weighted mouthfeel. The finish was soft and clean, but it seemed a little short on the finish. We definitely enjoyed it and would try it again…probably the 2010 next. We recommend that you drink this before 2014 if you have any in your cellar –  especially if the fruit is fading on the short finish. It pairs well with barbeque chicken, salmon, barbeque or spicy pork chops or a hearty summer salad (with fruit).

We give this A to Z Oregon Pinot Noir an 85 on the SiNoTas scale. Wonderful nose brings in high points. Good, balanced taste on the palate, but a short finish brought the score down from an 89. WineSplashing!
